gun?Looking at this PUNY RIFLE. Naya is packing a HAMMER today.
… if you say
You'd be surprised. Apparently. Besides, it gets bigger. He's not wrong>>417629Grumbles about how every Dick, Dick, and Dick has to cop an attitude
I'm not retarded, bonebag. I'm just as wary as anyone else is about all this.>>417761Sam's tone softens considerably as he talks to Iruka. Since she looks CONSIDERABLY out of place
You gonna be okay, kid? Don't feel bad if you feel the need to hang back.
>>417629Hey, that spooky armor of yours is getting a LOOK from Naya. Not really a 'oh my god that's horrifying' look though. Maybe the demon head in the jar, that's a little gross. But the bones and the ram skull helm?
Hey, I didn't say it before, but nice armor!Armor encrusted with bones and stuff like that is just par for the course where she's from.>>417761
You alright over there, dolphin girl?'Cause hairpin.
C'mon over, no need to be shy.>>417762
I mean… how much
bigger? 'Cause really, people talk about the guns here, but I've yet to see one that actually looks like it's suitable for hunting the kind of monsters I'm used to.Even a LBG makes most rifles look puny. But she looks around at the various weapons available.
Hmm… maybe I should have brought my hunting horn…
>>417809He's not used to people reacting positively to his existence! Yaaay!
Thank you. It is traditional armor for high ranking priests or Rathma. It seemed fitting for a creature as dangerous as the one we are apparently hunting.
Is your armor dragon scale?>>417762>>417761
If you say so…He will shift his gaze to the person who looks like a schoolgirl
Welcome to the group. Are you a caster or a martial artist? That's what unarmored people tend to b where he's from. He figures she's probably not a barbarian.
>>417625Iruka turns to stare at the man, or more accurately, her reflection in the man's mask.
Mm. I've hunted beasts before, but their habitats are rarely this… beautiful.>>417809
Yeah, I'm fine. Just taking in the sights. I've only ever encountered creatures in dark forests or caves.>>417810Figures clad in bone are hardly new to Iruka, but fighting alongside one usually is. She takes a brief moment to remind herself that this is someone she can trust her back to.
Martial artist. Kujōin Iruka, student of the Shinkage-ryu style, at your service. She bows politely, and a sword hung handle pointing down can be seen strapped to her back.
Beautiful is a way to describe the view they get from the south camp.
To one side there's lava, and to the other there's a pretty open area, a group of wingdrakes just kinda hanging out over there.
For a moment, a keen-eyed hunter might spot a larger beast slinking past way down there as well, walking from one cave to the other. It's got large horns, and a pair of wings seemingly covered in needles draped over its body. Though at this distance, the needles might be mistaken for fur.
Anyway, there's a blue chest at the camp ! It contains some hunting supplies, including a couple of first-aid kits, rations, and 「cold drinks」 for everyone.
Look, don't worry about me. Whatever my guns can't handle, this suit can. And whatever it can't, well, that's why we're a party, right?>>417810Grumbles. GRUMBLES'CAUSE YOU A BUTTHO'>>418066
Alright. If you need me, my name's Sam.And Sam starts referring to the whole group
That goes for all of you. Let's get this done.>>418075
Huh…It's somethin' to look at, ain't it? Question is, which way's this Xeno'Jiva that we gotta put down?
Not quite! Wyvern scale. Flying Wyvern, to be specific… Nargacuga, to be exact. She's gonna leave out that her armor is basically glamored, no need to go THAT into detail.>>418066
Well, I'm willing to bet you've never encountered anything like what we're gonna go take on! So I hope you're ready for it. It's definitely gonna be a story to tell later at the hunters hall!>>418075You better believe Naya's cracking open this chest and grabbing some stuff! Map, first aid medicine, the cold drinks… yeah, free stuff!>>418094
Well, yeah. Just be careful not to get carted testing out that suit of yours, yeah? We only get three before the hunt's over, and I'd rather not have to report this quest as a failure.Naya's gonna POINT!
Welcome to the group, Ms. Iruka. I am Xul, priest of Rathma. It is nice to meet you. Most martial artists I know prefer fist based weapons, I look forward to seeing them done with a sword.>>418075Xul will check out this chest, checking for something like Mana potions. Failing that he will just have a cold drink! Yum yum yum!>>418094Have an eye roll @:>>418107
Ah interesting. Are those creatures from this world, or your home world? He looks in the direction of the point
Shall we make our way to the beast?
It's a little strange… There's life here, but its barren in a weird way.>>418094
I can hold my own. She's not trying to be rude, but her nerves make her curt.>>418107
I won't let you down. I'll be following your lead, Ms. Naya.>>418113
I'm not unfamiliar with using my hands, but the sword is what I've spent my life studying.I'd imagine the groups on the move now so they'd be chatting while walking.
What about you? I see a lot of… bones on you but I can't tell how you plan to fight.
…No kiddin', huh?Gonna scan a map real quick to his suit and grab a cold drink. It's probably important, right? He ain't gonna drink it yet, tho'. He don't know what it's for
Well, I'll be careful. At least as much as I can be. Anyway, you look like you know what you're doin' so lead the way, lady.>>418113I'mma make a face at you. But you can't see it because of my mask>>418254
Heh. Sharp. Alright, I'll take your word for it. Gotta stop underestimating people 'cause of how they look 'round here.
Monsters from my world. I've yet to run into a Nargacuga here, or… most
of the monsters I'm used to, really. Naya nods and heads on out!>>418254
I'll try not to lead you astray, then! Looking forward to seeing what you can do with that sword of yours.>>418262Hell yeah she knows the way! She's keeping an eye out for monsters or the like as she retraces the steps that led to Xeno'jiva's hidey hole the first time. Also keeping an eye out for handy gathering spots! Some habits never die.
I have only just arrived, but yet to see any familiar demons or angels from my world here.>>418262ur a dork>>418254
Bones are integral to how I fight. I am primarily a summoner and a mage, but I've my poison dagger if I must engage directly, or if there aren't enough slain monsters around.
But if we are moving I suppose it's best I summon one of my Golems. And at this he will pull out a small knife, not poisoned, and he cut his hand open. As his blood touches the ground and mingles with a the dirt, a hulking creature comprised of flesh and blood will raise out of the ground next to him.
It's okay. I've been told that I can don the family armor someday if I ever master the sword.>>418320Iruka nods nervously, following along in Naya's path. She's noticed Naya's wandering gaze though.
Are you looking for something?>>418321
I…Iruka has to take a few seconds to recompose herself.
I've never seen how these are made. Its formation is… a little unsettling.
>>418320While Sam pretty much prefers to take point, he knows he's not the expert here and so he follows Naya. He doesn't gather like she do but he is keeping an eye on what she do gather
You been here already, I take it?>>418321UR MUM
Neat trick. You do Bar Mitzvahs?>>418436
No offense, but if you ain't wearin' armor during your training, isn't it gonna make you need to relearn everything when you are
wearing armor?…Ah, what do I know, I never used a sword. Closest I got is this.Holds out his gun which suddenly reshapes itself into a bladed disc launcher
I… that…She can't comment on his lack of seeing angels or demons because BLOOD GOLEM.
… that doesn't look hygenic.>>418436
Hmm? Oh, yes! Keeping an eye out for any monsters that might be aggressive on the way. And looking out for gathering nodes. Like right here! She's gonna pause at a gathering spot to rustle through some kind of vine growth.
Nulberries! You never know when these will come in handy.>>418454
Yeah. I was part of the expedition that first charted this place, so I have a pretty good idea of the layout already.
We also ran into that Xeno'jiva, but we weren't ready to fight something like that.
Yes, Necromantic arts are not generally pleasant. However they are the only way I know to battle monsters that threaten innocents, so I use them. >>418460Xul shrugs
It is a creation of blood and earth, so it is probably not. However not knowing the elemental resistances and weakness of what we hunt, it will prove useful initially. >>418454
Presumably that is a very cutting insult, but sadly those words mean nothing to me, so… I do not feel very insulted.>>418461
… Interesting. He pulls out one of the books and makes some notes on the large creature just chillin'
Not a very aggressive being… I wonder if it is guarding something, or simply just existing…
It's not too different. I've trained in armor before, and it's below my station as of now.>>418460
Nulberries? They don't look particularly null.>>418461Iruka seems quite taken with the fat lizard
I see. I've met necromancers before, but they rarely used golems made of flesh.
Huh. So you've already seen this thing, then. Considering the warning on this mission was that it can cause calamity and all that shit, what kinda chance you think we got?>>418464
Th'fuck?…No, it's not an insult!You silly undead FUCK>>418495
Oh…See, this is what I meant by "what do I know.">>418461
Is that thing eating rocks?…That's kinda hardcore.HE'S A GOOD BOYAnyway hey look at that tail. Though maintaining proper trigger discipline, Sam gets a bit twitchy seeing that go around the corner
Well don't that look unfriendly…
>>418461Awwwww it's eating rocks!WE SHOULD MURDER THE DERPY LITTLE SHIT.>>418464
That's still kinda… uh… w-well, hey, if it works, right? Besides, it's not half as gross as a Khezu.Seriously, Khezu can fuck right off.>>418495
You might still take a few. Trust me, if this monster winds up inflicting any Blights on us, you'll be glad you have them.Xeno doesn't do any status ailments, but Naya doesn't know that.>>418497
To tell you the truth, I'm not all that worried. We know the scope of what it is we're going after this time. That makes things a lot different from just stumbling on it without a clue. She looks over this Dodogam… I mean… unknown chin lizard!
It doesn't look hostile. Probably as long as we leave it alone, it won't give us any trouble. Whatever that
belongs to, though…'Cause she saw that tail too.
… probably isn't gonna be all that friendly.
Technically this one is a Blood Golem. Flesh Golems are an altogether darker art that I've never had the need to dip into…>>418510
Khezu? Is that also some kind of undead construct?>>418515>>418497
Well, I'm going to assume our quarry is that way then.He gestures vaguely towards the path of the spike tail monster
We came to hunt a monster, may as well start with that one. With that he'll wave his arm, casting bone armor! Shards of bone will fly up from all around and surround him, adding a bit more damage resistance to himself! The blood golem will turn to face the path, but won't move until the group has made a derision.
The nuances of sword styles are very complex. A lot of people are just as surprised as you are.>>418510
Blights, nulberries. Okay.Iruka grabs what she can, but not before snacking on one.>>418515Iruka wants to pet the lizard but imagines the group probably won't like that.>>418522
Necromancy is more complex than I thought… She looks quite fascinated at how the bones all managed to form usable armor despite being a mishmash of body parts.
Didn't think so.The disc launcher changes in Sam's hand to a heavy machine gun as he keeps to Naya's 6>>418515I won't, he's a goodest ladSam will continue following Naya's lead, whichever direction she goes in>>418522
Is that how this works? We just slap around something if it looks threatening?YOU'LL GIVE NAYA REASON TO SLAP AROUND GOODEST BOYSam inches away from Xul a bit because he doesn't wanna get dinged by bone shards, regardless of the nothing damage it would do>>418555I imagine unknown chin lizard would just eat rocks at Iruka if she pet it. He's a good lad
Well, just as long as I'm not making a tremendous ass outta myself. Kinda lookin' forward to seein' you in action at this point.
>>418515YOU'RE SO LUCKY WE'RE HERE FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE AND NAYA DOESN'T WANT TO PUT OFF THE JOB BY DETOURING TO MURDER THIS LIZARDI WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE CARVESI JUST WANT IT DEAD>>418522
Undead… no. But it would probably smell better if it was
.Imagine THAT.>>418555The nulberry has a pleasing tart flavor! However, it has no effect whatsoever considering she isn't under any status effects.>>418564
Well… yeah. We wouldn't want an aggressive monster to be on our trail when we're fighting Xeno'jiva.
If we weren't here for a specific monster, I'd say we should hunt that thing while we're here…She's pointing out that Dodogama.
I'm curious what kind of gear I could get crafted out of it's parts. But I don't want to wear us out more than necessary before we face Xeno'jiva.>>418515Pinging this one again just 'cause but she's kinda addressing everyone.
So the way I see it, we either go after that spikey monster we saw the tail of, or we double around and try to find a safer way around. I don't mind going after that thing, but what do you all think?
There is quite a lot to it, I spent many years studying it before I was even allowed to fight demons using it.>>418564
Pretty much. If something shows itself to be a threat it is best to dispatch it so it does not return to surprise you later.>>418616
I do not think our chubby rock munching friend is very likely to cause us issue. Best live and let live, peaceful creatures are a rare sight.>>418626
Well our options seem to be a lava room, jumping off a cliff, leaving the caves, or going towards the spiked monster. I vote fighting the monster.
I… Don't expect too much from me. Please.>>418616
This berry is tasty. If you think it's a good idea to fight that spiky thing I'm more than happy to follow your lead.>>418630
Demons? Wow… Everyone here is so experienced. I hear demons are extremely dangerous prey.
>>418616STOP THREATENING DODO
…I dunno if I could. I mean, Jay Leno there's just kinda minding his own business.Sam is, in fact, going to WAVE to Dodogama>>418626
…We're gonna need to take lava routes, aren't we? For the record, I am staunchly against falling into lava pools. I have an allergy.>>418630
Well, whatever has that tail looks unfriendly as shit and it probably is something that's gonna sneak up on us while we're raising a ruckus with Xeno'Jiva.>>418690Iruka saying all "don't expect much of me" and then being all like "DEMONS ARE PREY!" Fuckin' hell
>>418626FUCK YOUYOUR EYES ARE DOPEY AS FUCK AND I HATE YOU>>418630
Well, that's one solid vote for Spikey McSpikerson.>>418690Iruka is gonna get a solid pat on her shoulder!
Hey, you're part of this team for a good reason! I'm expecting as much out of you as I am out of myself.Nod!
Yeah, just hang onto those. If you get hit with a status blight, snack one down and it should set you right at rain.
Just not poison.
Or defense down.>>418691
Two solid votes for Spikey, and that's good enough for me. Let's see what this thing's got.And off she goes! She is heading in the direction she saw that tail vanish off to!>>418626AND LAMENTING THAT YOUR DUMB ASS IS STILL BREATHING!
Depends on the demon. Some are very stupid and easy to take out.>>418750>>418691Xul heads off towards the dragon, having his blood golem go up towards the front of the party>>418759Upon entering the room, Xul will cast dim vision on this dragon! This curse reduces the visual and hearing radius of the target by several yards, allowing the party to whisper without being detected, and keep them out of site until they move closer. He lowers his voice
Well point man, I think the opening move is yours…The Blood Golem will stand ready to fight, and will charge in once the party starts combat!
That thing… looks a lot meaner than the last thing I fought here. Or that rock eating lizard.Naya is keeping her voice down, of course.>>418761>>418773>>418779It is a very choice ass.Naya is gonna nod her agreement with Xul.
Yeah… we'll let Sam start us off. I'll go in and go for it's head. Try and time whatever it is you've got planned for just before I get there, yeah?Naya takes a moment to chug a Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin… she doesn't feel like taking chances with this thing. Then a quick drink of Dash Juice to be safe.
Alright… here we go.She takes her hammer off her back and winds it back to charge up for a big hit! While charging, naturally, she's gonna start running on out towards this Nergigante! It's not exactly a lance charge, so she isn't making her way there with any particularly impressive speed. With the Dim Vision curse, she should be able to get pretty close before being detected. And Sam should be making their presence plenty known before she has to worry about that anyways.
>>418786Xul nods at the plan>>418773Keeping an eye on you just in case.>>418779He was talking to you. Read your own guild paper work @:
Hold on…Xul will hold his hand up, counting down as the party makes their way up!
Do it.As Sam hopfully throws his grenade, the Dim Vision curse will wear off!>>418812As soon as Dim Vision goes away, Xul will cast a second curse, this time Amplify Damage. This curse causes wounds delt to the target to age faster, making ordinary attacks damage harder, and causing any cuts or wounds caused by these attacks to fester.Blood Golem is running up along side of Naya, once they reach the it will attemt to strike the dragon with a powerful uppercut from one of it's clawed hands! (This will be the dice roll) (The Die roll was 11, Editing a jerk)
Rolled 1d20: 11
i forget how to do this no matter how many times i do
>>419129>>419131>>419133>>419204Well a 17 matches me sooooo
Gaaaahhh!Naya assumes the traditional 'hands over ears' monster roar position.
I hate when they do that!
>>420425Golem Will continue to not have ears or a brain, and will come in with another swipe of it's claws, ignoring the roar. First Die!Xul will watch these spikes harden, while still out of range of the roarIt's starting to resemble a Quillback… I wonder if it will attack in a similar way. Either way, it would be best to pull attention to myself, it seems.Xul will switch to casting bone spear. A long shaft of bone will fly forward from Xul's hand towards the dragon! He's not actually aiming to hit anything vital, he's simply trying to pull it's attention to him. Second die! He will also yell to bolster this attention grabbing. He's not a barbarian, so he's not… ya know, great at taunting, but still!
Rolled 2d20: 1, 3 = 4
I get it, you are very loud. You can stop doing that now…>>420424>>419941>>419942Pls resist stun this time guies!
>>420428>>420577>>420579>>420624Wow you guys aren't doing too hotIruka missed her fade slash, Sam (probably, first die just for good measure) couldn't hit the long side of a barn, Naya missed her potion, and… Whatever that first crit fail was from Xul, jeezBut Xul gets the second die just to see if his bone spear hits at allWhatever the case may be, Nergi wants to maul the nearest hunter, and that happens to be Naya ! He rushes to close whatever distance there is between them, then jumps to slam his claws down on her !Third die
Rolled 3d20: 3, 20, 5 = 28
Rolled 1d20: 11
Aaagh!Thankfully she is an OLD SCHOOL HUNTER and her potions take effect all at once, and aren't used up in the first place if they get interrupted.
I hate when they do that!!and now Nergi is trying to MAUL HER. Oh shit, emergency dodge time!
>>THE REST OF YOUYou all exist.
